Java SE Development Kit still without additional costs in LISA

During the last weeks we have received a lot of inquiries about the new JAVA license conditions and possible upcomming costs.
In LISA, an integrated development environment (IDE) is available for the creation, testing and debugging of traffic-actuated controls for traffic signal lights. With the help of that development environment, user can generate Java source code supported by graphical tools. The Java SE Development Kit is required to use the LISA development environment (logic or test station module).

Meanwhile we have agreed with Oracle on the Java license topic and can inform you about the following:
According to the ORACLE license conditions "Oracle Technology Network License Agreement for Oracle Java SE" of 16.04.2019, usage for development purposes in integrated development environments is still free of charge. Accordingly, it is possible to use the Java SE Development Kit to create and test the controller in LISA without a Java license, since the controller logic is passed on as non-compiled source code. Oracle has confirmed to us that the Java use in LISA fulfills the OTN license conditions regarding development and test. So there will be no costs in this respect.
